Dear Mr Maria,
Further to my letter dated 26th May 2008, I am
sending you more details, regarding a complaint made
for fraud totalling Rs 21.5 crores by three Banks,
viz Punjab National Bank, (Rs 11.5 Crores). Bharat
Overseas Bank (Rs 5 Crores) and Greater Bombay
Co-operative bank (Rs 5 Crores). All banks advanced
loan fraudulently to Mr. Rajkumar Basantani of M/s
Soundcraft Industries Ltd.
The strange RTI reply dated 24th May 08 is attached.
Punjab National Bank: This bank had advanced Rs 3.5
crores against mortgage of a flat 398 sq ft, which
had falsely been shown as 2000 sq ft valued at Rs
2.04 crores. The valuers were Ms Anmol Sekhri &
Associates. Further the loan limit was increased to
Rs 11.5 crores and the same flat was taken as
additional security.
Bharat Overseas Bank: This bank had advanced Rs 5
crores against mortagage of a flat 600 sq ft, which
had falsely been shown as 2000 sq ft valued at Rs 2
crores. The valuers were Ms Anmol Sekhri &
Associates.
Greater Bombay Co-operative Bank: This bank advanced
Rs 5 crores against nil security. They only showed
some shares of Ms Soundcraft Industries Ltd., plus
some other bogus companies as security, against all
banking rules.
All three banks, have recovered 90% of the amount
given to Soundcraft Industries from Export Credit
Guarantee Corporation (ECGC) another government
organisation, after giving a false declaration that
they have given the loan legitimately.
All the above info has been given to Khar police
station in November 2005 and no FIR has been
registered yet. Please initiate action immediately as
I do not desire to trouble the overburdened courts,
but will have to, if even you refuse to act.
