Cop 'rapes' woman on pretext of
helping her
Gurgaon: A
woman who had come to this satellite town near Delhi
for a job about two months ago, has accused a head
constable of the Haryana Police of raping her twice
to help recover her stolen mobile phone.
Gurgaon police have
registered a case of rape against the tainted cop,
Pawan Kumar. the case was registered late on
wednesday evening after the accused allegedly made
yet another attempt to rape Kirti (name changed).
"On August 11
someone stole my mobile phone costing Rs 15,000. I
suspected it was a man living in my
neighbourhood," Kirti 22 said. She said Kumar
tried to strike a deal between her and the suspect
where the alleged thief was expected to pay her Rs
10,000 for the phone "Next evening, Kumar
reached my home with Rs 5,000 and raped me. he also
threatened me not to disclose this to anyone. On
August 13, he raped me again." Kirti alleged.
